Redbearded treeman by Emil Nolde

Posted by
Henrik Herskind (Copenhagen, Denmark) on 3 February 2010 in Art & Design.

An example of Emil Noldes "Ungemalte Bilder" (unpainted paintings) done in the period 1938-1945, when he suffered from the nazi's painting ban. Nolde lived in northern Germany, and these paintings were aquarels, so that there would be no sense from oil.
Scanning with rasterization.
