The waiter

Posted by
Henrik Herskind (Copenhagen, Denmark) on 20 June 2010 in Food & Cuisine.

"The Earth Around" is a popular café next to Copenhagen's largest marina. The place was built as a turnaround point for the trams, but we discarded them back in 1972.

Nice to meet everybody here on Am3. I always welcome your comments & critiques. :o)

Veronique from Sarrouilles, France

wow !! great processing...it makes me think at some game I play sometimes and has the same graphic design

@Veronique: Alas, the Lucis Art plugin is just a demo for me. I've just spent loads of money on two new lenses, so I guess I have to only dream about this fabulous plugin that works so intuitively swell :-(

Skyriani from Nelson, New Zealand

the feeling that comes up for me is pensiveness...I wonder what is going on in his mind

20 Jun 2010 6:34pm

@Skyriani: In that case it would be a very short pensiveness, as what goes on in his mind is: "Ah, let me see: Two beer, two sandwiches, one coffee, one tea, two mazarin cookies..." He was serving the cashier, when I stole his picture from under the desk ;-)

You really must find a way of adding the Lucis Art plug in on a permanent basis, it is one of my personal favourites for creating some very original images. This shot was just perfect for it.

@Curly: "Must" is a very strong word in the English vocabulary, I learned. So I guess, there is no way I can escape from this very kind advice of yours. - It really made me laugh! - Before the Lucis proces this picture was a nogood in my opinion (his eyes are kind of shut). Now the picture shines! (Is this an argument against your creed: "Every good picture derives from a strong foundation."?)

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

The strong foundation must have been there, otherwise you would not have been tempted to return to it!

21 Jun 2010 6:00pm

@Curly: Well, I revisited the original picture, and you are right: I was fascinated by the fan. Your credo hasn't been challenged!
