Fabulous shot, reminds me of the interior of one of our lighthouses here where the 30 tonne lamp assembly floats on a mercury bath and can be turned with just one finger!

@Curly: Well, what you see it the power of "creative close-ups", a course I just finished at www.betterphoto.com. And what we have is a "repetitive pattern".
The lighthouse has been closed down for 1 year, and it was certainly not the lighthouse manager, who showed us around. We heard, that the former lighthouse manager had tried in any way to prevent the public from getting access to the tower! - So we didn't hear details on how the lamp had been working.

This is brilliant!! i think that cropping works well compared to the previous image (tho i liked that one too!) as it enhances the abstract nature of the image! well done! :-)
